THE TEMPORARY LOCATION OF THE KAY COUNTY COURT CLERK'S OFFICE IS 801 W. SOUTH ST IN NEWKIRK. THIS IS THE OLD DHS BUILDING LOCATED ON THE CURVE AS YOU ENTER TOWN FROM THE SOUTH.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Court Clerk’s Office are as follows:
- Blood Test: Oklahoma law does not require a premarital blood test.
- CJ: are cases of $10,00 or more
- CS: are cases of $10,000 or less
- CV: are cases not requesting money judgment (examples: Driver’s license appeals, Name changes)
- SC: are cases of money judgments and evictions $10,000 or less
- Forms to initiate a small claims action are available in the Court Clerk’s office.
- You can track the progress of the criminal case online.
- Age 18 and older: proof if age is required, driver’s license, birth certificate or passport
- Age 16 to 17: Parental consent of either parent of legal guardian, birth certificate
- Under 16: Is prohibited in this state except by court order.
- Court ordered criminal assessments are due at the time of sentencing, unless Cost Administrator provides a defendant with a payment plan as sanctioned by the sentencing Judge. Defendants must appear in person to the cost administrator as ordered by the sentencing Judge.
- No appointments are made and defendants are seen on a first come, first serve bases

- We do not accept personal checks
- Notice: All costs and fines must be paid in full on or before the court appearance date.
